Full-Time Position

IBC Computers Brantford is currently seeking an experienced and reliable Computer Repair Technician / Retail IT Support Specialist to join our team in Brantford, Ontario.

We are looking for a motivated individual with strong technical knowledge, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. This position is intended for experienced candidates who already possess the required technical and communication skills. This is a professional business environment - not a training position.

Responsibilities:
  • Diagnose, repair, maintain, and upgrade desktop and laptop computers.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, networking, and peripheral issues.
  • Install and configure Microsoft Windows 10/11, macOS, Linux, and common business applications.
  • Perform malware removal, system optimization, data backup, and recovery services.
  • Assist customers with technical support, service recommendations, and product sales.
  • Schedule repairs, service appointments, and customer follow-ups.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with customers regarding repair status and recommendations.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of repairs and customer interactions.
  • Handle warranty claims and coordinate with third-party repair or warranty providers when necessary.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the store and repair workspace.
  • Ensure proper handling and security of customer data and company assets.

Requirements:
  • Minimum 2+ years experience in computer repair, IT support, or a related technical role.
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Microsoft Windows 10 & 11.
    • Microsoft 365 / Office applications.
    • Apple macOS and iOS.
    • Linux systems.
    • PC hardware diagnostics and repair.
    • Basic networking and Wi-Fi troubleshooting
  • Experience with laptop repairs, desktop builds, upgrades, and maintenance.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong customer service and communication abilities.
  • Professional appearance and attitude.
  • Reliable, punctual, and organized.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work effectively under pressure.
  • Must be fluent in English with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • English must be the candidate’s first language or equivalent native-level fluency, as clear communication and full comprehension are essential for this role.
  • Must live in or near the Brantford area.
  • Must possess a valid Ontario G-Class driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Must be bondable and able to pass a criminal background check.

  • Candidates are expected to already have the experience and technical ability required to perform the job independently.
  • Preference will be given to local candidates with proven experience in computer repair and customer service.
