Full-Time Position
IBC Computers Brantford is currently seeking an experienced and reliable Computer Repair Technician / Retail IT Support Specialist to join our team in Brantford, Ontario.
We are looking for a motivated individual with strong technical knowledge, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. This position is intended for experienced candidates who already possess the required technical and communication skills. This is a professional business environment - not a training position.
Responsibilities:
- Diagnose, repair, maintain, and upgrade desktop and laptop computers.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, networking, and peripheral issues.
- Install and configure Microsoft Windows 10/11, macOS, Linux, and common business applications.
- Perform malware removal, system optimization, data backup, and recovery services.
- Assist customers with technical support, service recommendations, and product sales.
- Schedule repairs, service appointments, and customer follow-ups.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with customers regarding repair status and recommendations.
- Maintain accurate documentation of repairs and customer interactions.
- Handle warranty claims and coordinate with third-party repair or warranty providers when necessary.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the store and repair workspace.
- Ensure proper handling and security of customer data and company assets.
Requirements:
- Minimum 2+ years experience in computer repair, IT support, or a related technical role.
- Strong knowledge of:
- Microsoft Windows 10 & 11.
- Microsoft 365 / Office applications.
- Apple macOS and iOS.
- Linux systems.
- PC hardware diagnostics and repair.
- Basic networking and Wi-Fi troubleshooting
- Experience with laptop repairs, desktop builds, upgrades, and maintenance.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong customer service and communication abilities.
- Professional appearance and attitude.
- Reliable, punctual, and organized.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Ability to multitask and work effectively under pressure.
- Must be fluent in English with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- English must be the candidate’s first language or equivalent native-level fluency, as clear communication and full comprehension are essential for this role.
- Must live in or near the Brantford area.
- Must possess a valid Ontario G-Class driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Must be bondable and able to pass a criminal background check.

- Preference will be given to local candidates with proven experience in computer repair and customer service.
